Party Tips & Tricks
Christmas >Holiday Recipe Swap
A Sweet Idea!
Stir up something new for the holidays! Ever wonder what’s in your cousin’s Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies? Always wanted your friend’s recipe for homemade applesauce? Well, mix it up this season with a Holiday Recipe Swap party! Invite family and friends to share their very best tasty treats and make the holidays even sweeter!
Recipe for Success!
None of your guests will be able to resist these fun invitations! Pick up a stack of decorative recipe cards (many will say “From the Kitchen of _____” right on them!) and send holiday greetings – and a tasty invite – for the Recipe Swap! List all the details right there on the recipe card! Be creative and write it out just like a recipe:
You will need:
1 free evening, Saturday, December 2nd
1 tasty sampling of your favorite holiday treat
12 copies of the recipe you choose
Mix well with good friends and family. RSVP by 11/25. Enjoy!
Or dash into Party City for lots of fun Holiday Invitations that’ll hit the spot!

A Culinary Celebration!
Try some of these tasty tips for a recipe swap that will keep guests coming back for seconds!
As guests arrive, display their festive foods buffet-style for everyone to enjoy! Visit Party City for festive Holiday plates or small tins to place recipe copies in front of each dish!
It’s a good idea to ask guests to let you know what type of dish they’ll be bringing when they RSVP. That way, you can be sure to round out your menu – and that there aren’t too many sweets – is there such a thing!?!
Let’s dish! Encourage guests to tell tales about their recipe of choice. If there’s a favorite holiday story or a “yummy yarn” attached to each delicious dish, ask chefs to share those as well!
Have a friendly cook-off! Once guests have had a chance to sample all the delicious donations, let each friend vote and award fun prizes in different categories! Try “Best Snack for Santa” or “Best Snowy Day Treat” – be creative and have fun with it! Award small prizes, like kitchen utensils or refrigerator magnets – and try to be sure that each cook wins a prize!
Recipe Roundup!
Since family and friends will be making culinary contributions to your holiday menu, we’d like to share a few of our festive favorites!
Easy Cheese Potato Trees
North Pole Shrimp with Cranberry Cocktail Sauce and Pesto

Thanks for the Recipes!
Thank family and friends for sharing the season’s best kept secrets! Pick up inexpensive photo albums with clear sleeves for photos. Decorate them with festive decoupage or even wrap each side with holiday gift wrap! Give one to each guest to hold their new recipe cards – instant recipe books!
And don’t forget to whisk into Party City for more Holiday Favors that are just as sweet!
