Party City - Tips - Bachelorette Party
Party Tips & Tricks

Bachelorette

OK, ladies. It's time to party! When it comes to celebrating the final days of single life for the bride, there's nothing more fun than getting the gals together for a memorable night out on the town.

Planning advice from a pro: We all know the bachelorette can create memories for the bride that will last a lifetime! But it's important to consider her personality when planning the bash. Is she a partier by nature? Hit the local hot spots. Is she more likely to be reading than drinking? Try an intimate gathering at home.

Whatever you decide, Party City's got you covered! From props to games, temporary tattoos to sweet mints, you'll find everything you need right here.

The Countdown What to do when? Use this handy little checklist:

3-4 months before the wedding:
Ask the bride out for coffee and take her temperature regarding your party ideas. Find out what she liked (and what she hated) about bachelorette parties she's been to before. Trust us, this will help you avoid any potential landmines. Don't forget to grab a copy of her wedding guest list. Or, you could just wing it and surprise her. But don't say we didn't warn you!

2 months before the bachelorette party:
Go over the guest list with your girlfriends and decide who should be invited to the party.

Pick a party theme and location.

Book the limo and driver (if you're lucky enough to be using one).

6 weeks before the bachelorette party:
Get those invites in the mail! Gals these days are busy, busy! You don't want to miss getting on everyone's calendars. Check out these hot pink and black invites. They're simply perfect.

4 weeks before the bachelorette party:
Go shopping for party essentials.

If you are staying in, what are you going to serve for food and drinks? Make sure you stock up on all the necessary supplies like foil pans, paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils, plastic cups, festive cocktail stirrers, table décor. There's nothing worse than running out of drink cups! Well, except maybe running out of ice.

2 weeks before the bachelorette party:
Track down those slackers who have forgotten to RSVP!

1 week before the bachelorette:
Shop for food/drinks (or ring a local caterer so you don't waste time in the kitchen when you could be out on a hot date!)

Create fun and useful favors for party guests like a custom soundtrack CD. Gettin' Jiggy With It!

Night of the party:
Set the stage: decorate the party space with balloons, streamers, photos of the bride. Don't forget to hang your bachelorette party banner!

Heading out? Pack the bride a survival kit with bachelorette party mints, lipstick, bottled water, aspirin, and of course, a disposable camera. The photos will come in handy when you need a favor in the future!

Make the bride her party outfit: t-shirt, BRIDE baseball cap, feather boa. She'll look so cute in the photos!

Be sure you are getting everyone's attention! Decorate your car (or limo) with our bachelorette party car decorating kit. And watch the men swarm.

Get out and play!
Dare to Do it Activity Cards
Now that the big night is finally here, get ready to have some fun. It wouldn't be a bachelorette party without our Dare to Do it Activity Cards! Everyone can play! Each gal in the party takes a turn. Points are awarded to those who dare to carry out crazy challenges like "drink from a stranger's drink without asking permission," and "kiss the best looking man in the room."

Dare to Do It Checklist
Pin our Dare to Do It Checklist on the bride's back and check off the dares she actually does! The list includes the banal to the crazy like "blow a kiss to a stranger" to "remove your bra without leaving the room." Have your camera ready!

The Bridal Scavenger Hunt
The Bridal Scavenger Hunt will get the bride running all over town and picking up tons of laughs along the way. Divide all the guests into teams. Compete to find stuff like a tag from a pair of men's underwear, a business card from a guy with the same name as the groom, a hotel room key, a drink coaster. Make the hunt even more fun with our Male Rating Sticker Game. Award the guys with ratings like "Nicest Eyes," "Best Biceps," and "Hottest Buns." The team that finishes their list AND gives away all their stickers, wins!

Dating Game
How much do the bride and groom know about each other? Before the bachelorette, ask the groom a series of questions: Where was your first kiss? Who said, "I love you" first? What's your secret fantasy? The bride has to guess how the groom answered. If she's wrong, a penalty awaits. Use the Decision Dice and make her "wink at a bald guy" or "kiss a hottie." The fun doesn't stop with the bride. Have all the gals take a turn rolling the dice.

Sex and the City Party
Don't feel like going out on the town? There are lots of fun ways to celebrate the bride's last days of single life right at home! Invite the gals over for a night of cosmopolitans, girl talk, games, and a favorite episode or two of Sex and the City. Be sure to play Pin the Bow Tie on the Bachelor! Master the recipe for the perfect cosmopolitan in advance. Mix one for yourself before the party.

The Classic Cosmpolitan
    1 oz vodka
    1/2 oz Cointreau
    1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
    Splash of cranberry juice
    1 cup ice cubes
    Cocktail shaker
Chilled martini glass and a steady hand

Combine all ingredients in the cocktail shaker. Shake gently and with that steady hand, pour carefully and strain into a martini glass. Fill it right up to the rim. For extra flair, float a curl of lime peel in the center of each drink.

Decorate
Setup the party location with the bride's favorite things: balloons in her favorite color (or try pink and black), her favorite flowers, and serve her favorite foods.

Photo Caption Game
Play the photo caption game. Collect photos of the bride from friends and family. Display them around the room and ask guests to make up captions. Award prizes for the funniest and most original. Assemble them into a scrapbook and give to the bride!

The Best Bachelorette Party Book has creative and fun ideas for themed parties, invitations, recipes and much more! Looking for the recipe for Safe Sex on the Beach or the Screaming Orgasm? You'll find it here along with recipes for Horny Party Mix and the Wedding Night Obstacle Course.

Fun and festive favors
Everyone deserves a prize for being a good sport! Try shot glasses, fortune cookies, chocolates, and mini massage oils. Consider packaging a few items together in a favor box decorated with a sticker that has the bride's name and the date of the party. Burn a CD with some of the bride's favorite party tunes or sexy-themed music. If you are taking a limo or a car service out on the town, be sure to pop this in the CD player to get the night started off right!
